UC Davis Sexual Assault/Violence Training Modules

In 2014, I led a small team of my ATS colleagues in one of my most ambitious and important Captivate eLearning projects – designing an online training in Sexual Violence Prevention that all incoming 1st year and transfer students (nearly 9,000 students in all) were required to take. I worked closely with the SME to brainstorm all narration and scripted scenarios which I then wrote. I directed all of the filming, relying upon student actors to act out the scenarios we had developed. I then incorporated the videos into Captivate training modules, designing all the slides and interactive activities for five modules in all. This particular module is the penultimate chapter which sees our group of students fend off a would-be attacker of their friend at a party and focuses on other intervention strategies. It also features some drag and drop exercises and some questions. This was a challenging project in many ways, but everyone was very happy with the end result, especially Student Housing and the Center for Advocacy, Resources, and Education who co-sponsored its development.

Note: Due to some issues with the UC Davis video player we were required to use for this project, you may need to pause and then play the videos to get them to load and start.
