While at the UC Davis MIND Institute, a research institute dedicated to learning about and finding therapies for autism, fragile x syndrome, Tourette’s syndrome and other neurodevelopmental disorders, I produced a series 10 promotional videos for various research programs. The purpose was both to share with the public what these studies were starting to learn, as well as to recruit new study participants. This involved helping people who weren’t very comfortable on-screen feel at ease to garner their best performances, something I still do often when directing instructional videos. I interviewed these people, did all of the video recording, edited, and wrote scripts when needed for some other videos in the series.
