During my time with the UC Davis School of Medicine I was tasked with creating some promotional videos to help incoming students understand the purpose of the Team-Based Learning format as a part of the I-EXPLORE curriculum.
We decided to interview both faculty and students for their thoughts on the format. I developed the interview questions to address themes I knew we’d want to discuss, conducted the interviews, shot all of the video, recorded all of the audio, synced up music, and edited the pieces together, resulting in the two companion pieces below.
I ended up with over 7 hours of interview footage on a wide range of subjects, not all of which ended up in these final cuts. I’ve also put together other videos using footage that didn’t end up in the final cuts that is used for internal faculty development during workshops in an effort to improve TBL quality across the curriculum.
